Women's Empowerment Institute is represented by strong leaders who are paving their way into successful futures through volunteering, social activities and academic excellence. This leadership continues through our prominent alumni network, who proudly help members find valuable jobs upon graduation. Browse through our site to learn more.

Dear Interested Student,  

You are part of remarkable woman apart of the Robert H. Smith School of Business, and we would love to see you join our prestigious fourth cohort. The community of the Women’s Empowerment Institutes highlights the importance of both professional and community development through workshops and community-building opportunities. 


We strongly believe in our mission statement:  To empower women from underrepresented populations within the Robert H. Smith School of Business to be successful personally and professionally by:

  • Inspiring them to be confident in their ability to be a leader.

  • Connecting members with high-profile business leaders and experiential learning that will equip them with the business acumen necessary to succeed in a professional setting. 

  • Creating an environment of trust where transparent feedback and experiences underrepresented women will be shared and supported.

The executive leaders of WEI have developed a comprehensive curriculum designed to inspire, connect, and empower women leaders at Smith.

Come out and join The Women's Empowerment Institute and The Smith Business Academy in celebrating our trailblazing seniors who have not only found their own way through the halls of The Smith School of Business but paved the way for other individuals to follow. Furthermore, please note that Qdoba will be served for this event!

Terpzone

Join The Women's Empowerment Institute (WEI), the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA), and the Smith Business Academy (SBA) in celebrating the end of the 2024 Spring Semester with a Cinco de Mayo event! Come out and enjoy an evening of bowling, pool, and food with your peers at Terpzone. It's the perfect way to end the semester off right!

Due to limited lanes, bowling will be on a first-come, first-serve basis!
